In Spanish, the term vara refers in several respects to the pastoral tradition. Used to designate the shepherd's crook, this word is also the unit of measurement for the width of transhumance routes. The term was therefore a natural fit for Wooldreamers's latest yarn, 90 Varas, whose wool comes from transhumant merino sheep flocks. As always with Wooldreamers, the focus is on short supply chains, traceability, and the well-being of both humans and animals. This two-ply yarn, with a light fingering - fingering weight, is offered in a collection of 25 mottled colors, either dyed or obtained from the natural colors of sheep fleeces. It is a rustic, soft, bouncy yarn that will work wonders in both jacquard and solid colors.
