Wooden Swift - Lykke

To be placed on a flat surface or clamped to the edge of a table, yarn winders are used to transform skeins of yarn into cakes before knitting. Lykke yarn winders are handcrafted in India from sustainably managed wood species (mango wood, rosewood, or acacia). Mango growers plant trees every 7 to 15 years, after which the mango trees stop producing fruit. They are then cut down for their wood. Rosewood (or sheesham in Indian) is fast-growing. It gets its name from the scent it releases when one of its branches is first cut. It turns brown over time.
